Dr. Jochen Kumlehn

Jochen Kumlehn is head of the Division of Cell Biology and Biotechnology and the research group Plant Reproductive Biology at the IPK Gatersleben in Germany. His scientific activities have a strong focus on Triticeae cereals and are mainly devoted to the establishment of principles and methods of transgenesis, site-directed genome modification and the formation of plants originating from haploid cells. The deployed technological platforms facilitate fundamental and applied research on sexual and asexual plant reproduction, plant domestication, plant-pathogen interaction as well as on morphological and physiological aspects of crop plant performance.
