Shortly about
Martin Mascher is head of the research group “Domestication Genomics” at IPK Gatersleben. A mathematician by training, his research focusses on topics in plant bioinformatics and computational genetics. He has developed algorithms and pipelines for assembling genome sequences and analyzing resequencing data of crop diversity panels. Recently, his group has analyzed sequence data from plant genetic resources, crop wild relatives and archaeological samples to understand domestication and crop evolution in cereals.
