Dr. Therése Bengtsson

Therése Bengtsson (PhD, SLU, Alnarp, 2013) is a plant pathologist with a research focus on germplasm enhancement or pre-breeding for cereal’s host plant resistance to pests and pathogens through genomics-assisted breeding. She has a long experience managing Nordic public-private partnerships (PPP) on cereal pre-breeding. During the last nine years, she managed a PPP project on pre-breeding of spring barley in collaboration with Nordic plant breeding private seed sector and the academia. Dr. Bengtsson currently leads a new Nordic PPP-project (CResWheat) focusing on host plant resistance to pathogens affecting spring wheat.in Scandinavia and Fennoscandia.
