Shortly about
Henrik Brinch-Pedersen is head of Section for Crop Genetics and Biotechnology at Aarhus University. His research is focusing on cereals, their qualities and on how to improve them by biotechnological and genetic methods. He is a pioneer in genetic transformation and gene editing in barley. Through his research, Henrik Brinch-Pedersen has uncovered the genetic basis for the bioavailability of phosphorous and micronutrients in cereals and has identified a range of non-utilized traits supporting improved feeding value of the cereal grain. His research group has recently initiated research on re-domestication of wild barley by new breeding techniques.
